We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Streams UI team, where you'll have the chance to shape and enhance our user interface, making it more intuitive and engaging for our users. In this role, you'll work on Fleet. Fleet is the central management experience for Elastic Agent in Kibana. You'll also work on Streams. Streams is our new tool for handling log data. This includes ingesting, organizing, parsing, enriching, and setting retention for the data. You will be part of a skilled group of engineers and designers. Design and implement intuitive user interface components that enhance user commitment, using TypeScript, React, and Node.js. Integrate front-end elements seamlessly with back-end services to ensure a smooth user experience. Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to drive continuous improvements.

Own complex, loosely-defined problems end-to-end: shape the approach, split the work if needed, make the key technical decisions, and deliver.

Lead discussions on architecture and system design. During these discussions, consider trade-offs. Also, think about backwards compatibility, performance, and scale.

Establish coding standards and ensure the team adheres to them throughout the development process. Promote reusable components to improve efficiency and implement automated testing and deployment to maintain code quality. Evaluate new technologies for potential integration and document best practices to facilitate team-wide knowledge sharing.

Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Offer constructive feedback and identify potential security vulnerabilities in the codebase. Focus on maintaining code readability and facilitate discussions with team members to address any findings from the code review.

Collaborate async across timezones with a fully-distributed team, working in the open on GitHub and in Slack.

Partner closely with designers and product managers to apprehend user experience goals and translate their mockups into functional UI components. Ensure a consistent visual design across all UI elements. Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for enhancing the user interface.
