Senior Software Development Engineer, iOS in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Develop native iOS application software from conception through production for Ford’s global customer-facing app.
  • Review and provide software engineering feedback on product designs and architectures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging products and technologies.
  • Write and contribute to software engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate with product managers, product designers, engineers, and other technical experts.
  • Design and implement mobile frontend architecture, including modular application design, state management, and navigation strategies.
  • Support software operations through debugging, production issue tracing, performance testing, load testing, support, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in native iOS application development.
  • 5+ years of experience with Swift and the iOS application development ecosystem.
  • 3+ years of mobile frontend application architecture experience.
  • Strong Swift and iOS development skills and in-depth SwiftUI experience.
  • Experience building and shipping production-grade software or services.
  • Knowledge of Apple platform architectures such as MVVM and MVC.
  • Working knowledge or practical experience with the Composable Architecture library (TCA).
  • CI/CD experience, including Fastlane, scripting, and Ruby knowledge.
  • Experience with software operations, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, observability, support, maintenance, debugging, tracing production problems, performance testing, or load testing.
  • A master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong software testing practices, communication skills, cross-functional collaboration, and experience working in fast-paced environments are preferred.
