Responsibilities

Own the complete lifecycle of full-stack authentication infrastructure features, including technical specification, implementation, rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
Design and implement scalable, high-throughput distributed systems and define the architectural direction for account authentication and security.
Contribute to and maintain user authentication and security infrastructure.
Collaborate with Application Security, Roblox Core Services, and the broader Roblox Safety organization.
Lead cross-functional technical initiatives and drive adoption of core safety applications.
Instrument and analyze user interaction data, usage metrics, and experiments to improve product impact and performance.
Mentor peers and lead delivery of key features and projects across team boundaries.

Requirements

5+ years of software development experience.
Proven ability to design and implement robust, high-throughput microservices handling thousands of requests per second with a focus on safety and security.
Full-stack proficiency with front-end technologies such as React, Vue, or Angular and back-end technologies such as Python, Java, or Go.
A BS in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or another technical field, or equivalent experience.
Experience building complex, production-grade systems end to end, including at least 4 years of full-stack engineering experience.
Strong analytical and data-driven skills, including instrumenting, collecting, and analyzing user interaction data.
Experience or interest in Rust, Go, and C#, AI-centric solutions, machine learning, and agentic AI capabilities.
Collaborative technical leadership, mentoring ability, ownership, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Office-based roles are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence Monday and Friday.
For headquarters-based roles in San Mateo, California, the listed annual base salary range is $196,750-$243,290 USD.
