Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain API management software and its underlying stack.
Architect and implement features for proxying, load balancing, and database support.
Troubleshoot bugs, tune performance, and perform low-level optimizations.
Extend Kong core to support emerging industry trends and use cases.
Bridge Kong with third-party deployment platforms and tooling.
Collaborate with the open-source community and write product documentation.

Requirements

At least 5 years of programming experience with server-side applications and components.
Experience designing, prototyping, building, and debugging highly scalable, distributed, reliable, and resilient applications.
Hands-on expertise troubleshooting and profiling Linux systems.
Experience with distributed systems, the Linux networking stack, and computer systems programming, including L4 and L7 transports and protocols.
Familiarity with AI LLM concepts and application development.
Ability to work effectively with a remotely distributed team and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Strong ownership and communication skills.
