Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end design, implementation, and operation of authentication, authorization, OAuth, session, token, two-factor authentication, account recovery, and edge authorization capabilities.
Build secure, low-latency Go and gRPC services for web, mobile, API, and partner experiences.
Lead technical designs involving signed authorization tokens, passkeys, biometric recovery, device-aware authentication, and mobile OAuth.
Partner with product, security, fraud, and infrastructure teams to balance customer conversion, account protection, regulatory requirements, and engineering constraints.
Build self-service tooling and simplified integration patterns for product teams.
Mentor engineers and contribute through design reviews, pairing, code reviews, and on-call participation.

Requirements

At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience building and operating reliable, high-throughput distributed services in production.
Strong proficiency in Go or a comparable systems-oriented language.
Experience designing secure APIs and working with authentication, authorization, session management, trust boundaries, and token handling.
Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JSON Web Tokens, PKCE, or related standards.
Proficiency with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and data stores such as Redis or DynamoDB.
Operational experience using metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and service-level objectives to run critical services.
Track record of delivering complex cross-functional projects from technical design through production rollout.
Strong written and verbal communication for aligning engineering, security, product, and infrastructure partners.
Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
