Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain critical backend software in a Java environment.
  • Author functional specifications and design documents for new features.
  • Own key parts of complex systems, including delivered software quality.
  • Design and implement scalable backend solutions for distributed computing environments.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
  • Perform peer reviews of specifications, designs, and code.
  • Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers, DevOps, and cross-functional teams on deployments and production troubleshooting.
  • Work in iterative development cycles with short customer feedback and release cycles.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience developing highly scalable, distributed applications, products, and backend services using Java or Golang.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Deep understanding of building and deploying distributed, resilient software.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and software development skills.
  • Experience working in short release cycles.
  • Experience with SQL query tuning and performance optimization is a plus.
  • Experience with search frameworks such as Elasticsearch or SOLR is a plus.
  • Experience with applications hosted on AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD processes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude.
