Responsibilities

Design and build scalable distributed systems using event-based and streaming data pipelines for robot, manufacturing, and clinical data.
Develop self-service APIs and applications that enable users to access and interact with data.
Partner with core engineering teams to evolve data models for changing business needs.
Apply CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, and microservice architecture practices.
Participate in planning, code reviews, KPI reviews, and design discussions, driving decisions to closure.
Mentor junior engineers and new team members.
May lead moderately complex data-domain projects with cross-functional partners.

Requirements

Fluent coding in at least two major programming languages.
Hands-on experience building data pipelines and distributed systems with technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, and Airflow.
Technical knowledge of event-driven pipelines, message queues, container orchestration, stream processing, relational databases, data warehouses, analytics engineering, workflow orchestration, and search engines.
Experience with CI/CD workflows, unit and integration testing, and deployment patterns.
Experience with AWS and/or GCP and with SQL and relational databases.
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, with a typical minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Preferred experience includes platform-team work, GitLab CI/CD or other CI tooling, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, infrastructure-as-code practices, and CNCF projects.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, take ownership, and manage progress independently.
