Senior Software Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Architect a network bonding framework aggregating bandwidth across Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile cellular providers.
  • Build ns-3-like simulations to stress-test networking against tunnels, rural dead zones, congestion and other edge cases.
  • Develop custom congestion-control algorithms for high-bitrate, low-latency video streaming.
  • Design and implement custom FEC and ARQ approaches for challenging high-mobility network conditions.
  • Partner with Hardware and Embedded teams to optimize the network stack on the vehicle gateway.
  • Write performant, thread-safe code for networking and real-time systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience, or a PhD focused on Networking or Distributed Systems plus 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of the Linux networking stack, socket programming and data flow from the physical layer to the application layer.
  • Expertise writing performant, thread-safe C++ and understanding real-time systems.
  • Strong understanding of TCP and UDP and experience implementing FEC or ARQ.
  • Preferred experience with video streaming frameworks such as WebRTC.
  • Preferred understanding of video codecs including VP8, VP9, H.264 and H.265.
