Senior Software Engineer, Backend in USA

Responsibilities

  • Own technical decisions and projects from design through launch and on-call operations.
  • Design and build scalable gateway, runtime, and evaluation services for AI workloads.
  • Develop identity, quota, routing, caching, failover, cost attribution, and governance controls for AI systems.
  • Partner with security, infrastructure, and product engineering teams on agentic workload guardrails and tool-access identity.
  • Create and monitor system metrics, alerts, runbooks, and operational health practices.
  • Improve code review and design standards, communicate practices through writing and technical talks, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience designing, developing, and launching large-scale backend systems.
  • Experience building highly available distributed systems with technologies such as Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Production experience with LLMs, agents, or AI frameworks, including inference APIs, LLM gateways, MCP, tool calling, evaluations, or agent runtimes.
  • Experience defining technical plans and delivering significant features or system components with simple, extensible designs.
  • Ability to make significant changes safely in large codebases and write high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, ownership, collaboration, and growth mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
