Senior Software Engineer, Core Platform in USA

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the architecture and implementation of Astro Platform components.
  • Develop and iterate on features for customers and the engineering organization, including public-facing APIs.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, product management, customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Improve the platform’s usability, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Build and operate backend services using Go, dependency integrations, and Kubernetes-based service orchestration.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience building performant, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
  • Experience developing services with Go and working with Kubernetes for service orchestration.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases, particularly Postgres; Spanner experience is a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of distributed systems concepts and NALSD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants and LLMs such as Claude, Cursor, or Gemini for prototyping, testing, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Open source contributions, Apache Airflow or workflow orchestration experience, and experience with billing or authentication systems are preferred.
