Responsibilities

Architect and deliver a high-performance analytics environment serving thousands of queries daily.
Design and scale robust data infrastructure for data retrieval and visualization.
Build services that source, process, normalize, and store datasets from diverse external sources.
Ensure data systems are reliable, observable, privacy-compliant, and performant.
Bridge data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure to deliver usable internal data tools.
Build intelligent agentic automation for analytical workflows.
Contribute to internal platforms and developer productivity tools.
Act as a tech lead, mentor junior engineers, and own projects through their full lifecycle.

Requirements

5+ years of work experience building production-grade, scalable, and reliable data systems.
B.S. equivalent in computer science or sufficient experience.
Understanding of AWS infrastructure, including VPC, endpoints, PrivateLink, Terraform, and Amazon EKS.
Experience with infrastructure networking, including Kubernetes ingress, load balancers, and VPC networking.
Understanding of data infrastructure and Trino/Spark system configuration.
Strong SQL and distributed engine knowledge.
Python and notebook data stack experience, such as pandas and Ibis.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and an interest in building systems that accelerate team productivity.

Office-based roles are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence Monday and Friday.
The role is based at the Roblox headquarters in San Mateo, California, unless otherwise noted.

Salary: $197k - $243k/yr
