Responsibilities

Build and maintain local and cloud development environment tooling.
Improve the speed and reliability of CI and deployment pipelines.
Develop reusable workflows for creating services and libraries.
Improve SDK and library publishing tools and release processes.
Build metrics, dashboards, and flaky test detection systems.
Provide engineers and AI coding agents with useful context and access within Sentry systems.
Partner with engineering teams to prioritize improvements, support adoption, and evaluate results.
Own technical projects from design through rollout and ongoing operation.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent experience building developer tools and infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience building or significantly improving developer tooling or infrastructure used by engineering teams.
Strong proficiency in Python.
Experience improving CI/CD systems and diagnosing performance or reliability issues.
Experience leading complex technical projects through design, implementation, and rollout.
Production experience with Docker and container orchestration.
Experience with cloud infrastructure such as GCP or AWS.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code tools.
Experience building agreement across engineering teams on tools, standards, or workflow changes.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical tradeoffs and documenting systems.

Benefits

Position is based in San Francisco with three days per week in the office.

Salary: $190k - $400k/yr
