Responsibilities

Own commercial navigation initiatives end to end from design through production rollout, including quality, adoption, and customer-impact follow-up.
Design and ship customer-facing features across mobile, backend services, and web for driver navigation, administrative visibility, optimized routing, and safety-focused capabilities.
Write maintainable, well-tested code; participate in design and code reviews; and improve observability, testing, and production reliability.
Clarify ambiguous problems, define success metrics and milestones, identify risks and tradeoffs, and align priorities with product teams.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, Maps, Telematics, and adjacent teams.
Use AI-assisted development tools with sound judgment and model Samsara’s cultural principles.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
At least 6 years of experience.
Proven experience shipping customer-facing software in production across multiple surfaces, including mobile, web, and/or backend services, with depth in at least one area.
Comfort using AI development tools with judgment in day-to-day engineering.
Preferred: experience building mobile applications with React Native, Swift, or Kotlin.
Preferred: several years of feature ownership and maintenance, plus logistics, industrial IoT, driver or field-worker mobile application, geospatial, or mapping experience.
