Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement features in the Windows networking stack.
Investigate customer cases involving core networking areas using logging, packet captures, and telemetry data.
Debug, analyze, and implement fixes for defects in networking stacks.
Collaborate with Azure, Office, and other Microsoft teams.
Keep current with networking standards-based protocols and build functionality for customers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
Coding experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Experience with networking protocols and architecture is preferred.
Experience with driver or kernel-level software is preferred.
Strong coding, debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills are preferred.
8+ years of software development experience is preferred.
5+ years of industry experience with C/C++ or Rust is preferred.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Benefits

The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year, with a separate range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan locations.
Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
The position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.

Salary: $120k - $261k/yr
