Senior Software Engineer, New Ventures in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Build end-to-end features across backend services, APIs, data models, web front ends, and Android point-of-sale and handheld applications.
  • Learn unfamiliar platforms and codebases quickly, including Android and Kotlin.
  • Work with customers and product partners to shape useful product solutions.
  • Collaborate with a small cross-functional team and rapidly put products in customers’ hands.
  • Deliver high-quality, maintainable code across diverse codebases and shifting requirements.
  • Own testing, instrumentation, on-call responsibilities, cleanup, and other aspects of software development.
  • Use AI tools to improve development velocity, workflow, and engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience shipping meaningful products to real users with measurable technical and business impact.
  • Fullstack experience owning features from backend services and APIs through client applications.
  • Solid backend fundamentals in Java, Kotlin, or a similar language, including distributed systems, asynchronous communication, event-driven architecture, API design, and integration patterns.
  • Experience with modern web frontend development using React or a similar technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new languages, frameworks, or platforms and ship production code.
  • Ability to deliver clean, maintainable, resilient software.
  • Experience with 0-to-1 product development and comfort working with shifting priorities and incomplete requirements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including writing technical designs and aligning with product and design partners.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate development and ship better work.
  • Android development experience, particularly production Kotlin, is preferred.
  • Experience with early-stage products, internal incubations, rapid experimentation, point-of-sale, payments, hardware-adjacent, or offline-first systems is preferred.
