Senior Software Engineer - Optimization, Remix in USA

Responsibilities

  • Improve planning and scheduling products that help transit planners evaluate concepts and make data-informed service decisions.
  • Build, scale, and improve optimization and backend systems for production performance and reliability.
  • Own software features end to end from concept through production.
  • Collaborate with designers, data scientists, algorithm researchers, product managers, transit planners, schedulers, and customers.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices, architecture discussions, productivity tools, and code quality processes.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience building and scaling a computationally hard production system such as optimization, routing, search, simulation, or geospatial processing.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a user-centered approach to product development.
  • Experience with operations research, mathematical optimization, or applied machine learning is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with geospatial data, mapping technologies, or data visualization is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and engage with customers and cross-functional partners.

Benefits

  • Salary range is $180,000-$220,000, excluding equity or variable pay.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including free medical plans and 401K matching.
