Responsibilities

Build and ship product capabilities across backend services, APIs, and modern web application stacks.
Own moderate-to-large projects end-to-end, including scoping, technical design, implementation, rollout, and iteration.
Develop maintainable, performant user-facing experiences aligned with product requirements and design direction.
Partner with Product, Design, and adjacent engineering teams on cross-functional initiatives.
Identify and resolve technical risks, blockers, and mis-scoped work.
Contribute to architecture and design discussions focused on maintainability, operability, and long-term productivity.
Write production-quality code, tests, and technical documentation, and provide effective code reviews.
Support and mentor less experienced engineers through feedback, onboarding, and collaboration.
Improve engineering quality, team execution, and customer product experiences through ownership and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
Professional experience building and operating production software across the full application stack.
Experience building distributed backend services with a modern language such as Python, Go, Rust, Java, or TypeScript.
Experience building backend services on AWS, GCP, or Azure and familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
Experience designing and operating APIs, services, and asynchronous or event-driven systems.
Experience with SQL-based relational databases, data modeling, and persistence layers for production backend systems.
Knowledge of observability, reliability, and operational best practices for production services.
Frontend development experience using modern JavaScript or TypeScript with React, Angular, or similar frameworks.
Preferred experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning, Neo4j or other graph databases, GraphQL, ETL pipelines, data processing tools, cybersecurity products, scoring or recommendation algorithms, and data-intensive products.
Preferred experience partnering with product managers to define and sequence MVPs and influencing technical direction beyond a single team or domain.

Base salary range of $200,000-$235,000, plus equity in the form of stock options.
