Senior Software Engineer (Platform Core) in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and operate distributed backend services and APIs for high-volume customer interactions.
  • Own platform work from problem framing and technical planning through implementation, rollout, and production support.
  • Improve reliability, scalability, latency, cost, and SLA performance across shared platform systems.
  • Partner with Product, SRE, and engineering teams to deliver platform improvements without destabilizing live traffic.
  • Participate in on-call, incident response, troubleshooting, alerting, runbook improvements, deployment quality, and capacity planning.
  • Contribute to code reviews, design reviews, pairing, documentation, and mentorship.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience building backend services and APIs in production, or equivalent practical depth.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and/or Go.
  • Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and cloud-native development on AWS and/or GCP using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Production ownership experience including deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and on-call support for high-scale services.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or Aurora, Redis, and RabbitMQ, with the ability to reason about reliability, performance, and scale tradeoffs.
  • Preferred experience with Redshift, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis, IAM, Terraform, observability, and database scaling or migration.
