Responsibilities

Develop and evolve the RokuOS Platform Abstraction Layer to support new devices and features.
Architect modular, portable RokuOS components and software abstractions across diverse hardware and software platforms.
Build tools and infrastructure that support platform portability and integration.
Write high-performance, reliable, and portable C and C++ software.
Debug complex system issues, optimize performance, and improve product quality.
Investigate system behavior and resolve problems affecting users.
Collaborate independently and in small cross-functional engineering groups to deliver features on schedule.
Drive AI adoption across the team, mentor others, and establish repeatable AI engineering standards.

Requirements

5+ years of experience developing Linux-based consumer electronics products.
Expert-level C and C++ programming skills.
Demonstrated experience designing APIs and developing portable, cross-platform code.
Proven success with embedded Linux development projects.
Experience building robust system-level and portability abstractions.
Familiarity with Wi-Fi, audio/video streaming, or secure video playback technologies.
Familiarity with consumer products, user interfaces, and networking functionality.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
AI literacy and curiosity, including experience with generative AI tools or exploration of generative AI.
