Responsibilities

Operate and improve large-scale Kafka-based messaging and platform infrastructure.
Improve the reliability, scalability, performance, observability, automation, and operational excellence of asynchronous communication platforms.
Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant systems and platform capabilities.
Troubleshoot production incidents across application, infrastructure, and network layers and drive root-cause remediation.
Optimize AWS infrastructure usage while balancing reliability, performance, and cost.
Partner with engineers and teams on platform standards, tooling, best practices, and architectural decisions.

Requirements

Strong software engineering fundamentals and production experience with distributed systems.
Solid experience with Kubernetes, networking, and AWS in large-scale or business-critical environments.
Experience operating infrastructure-heavy platforms with high reliability and availability requirements.
Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and improve observability, automation, and operational tooling.
Strong understanding of scalability, resilience, performance, and failure-isolation patterns.
Ability to work autonomously on ambiguous technical problems and collaborate across team boundaries.
Experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging and streaming technologies is preferred.
Platform engineering, SRE, infrastructure-focused backend engineering, multi-account AWS environments, large-scale cloud operations, and high-throughput event-driven architecture experience are preferred.
