Responsibilities

Deliver traffic-platform milestones from problem definition through rollout and follow-up, while managing tasks, progress, risks, and stakeholders.
Design and evolve reliable, scalable, secure traffic-management and service-mesh capabilities.
Ensure platform stability and quality through failure-aware design, testing, observability, incident response, and preventative follow-up.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and partner teams to translate needs into technical plans and milestones.
Use AI tools and agents to investigate issues, write and review code, explore solutions, and automate repetitive work.
Create technical documentation and runbooks, share knowledge, and contribute to engineering reviews and initiatives.
Support teammate growth through feedback, code reviews, design discussions, pairing, and collaboration.
Participate in on-call and support routines and use incidents, tickets, and metrics to drive platform improvements.

Requirements

Experience operating large-scale, high-performance synchronous distributed systems in the cloud.
Hands-on experience with load balancers, reverse proxies, TLS/mTLS, routing, and metrics, logs, and traces.
Experience with Kubernetes-based infrastructure, Infrastructure-as-Code, deployment and routing strategies, and DNS configuration.
Experience using AI tools and agents in daily engineering workflows while validating outputs and maintaining quality and safety.
Experience leading infrastructure platform projects from design through production launch and post-rollout stabilization.
Experience with Istio or other service-mesh technologies such as Linkerd, Envoy-based solutions, or Finagle.
Production experience with AWS networking and compute primitives including ALB/NLB, security groups, VPC, Route 53, and IAM.
Hands-on experience with Pulumi or Terraform for cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.
Experience building platform capabilities, shared libraries, abstractions, SDKs, or internal tooling for other engineers.
