Senior Test Automation Engineer in Remote

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of a scalable Cypress.io automation framework for Salesforce, Experience Cloud, integrated web applications, and critical business processes.
  • Define automation architecture, coding standards, reusable commands, fixtures, test-data patterns, environment configuration, tagging, and reporting conventions.
  • Develop and maintain smoke, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and selected component-testing suites using UI and API-based approaches.
  • Create a risk-based automation roadmap prioritizing high-volume, high-risk, and business-critical Salesforce journeys.
  • Address Salesforce automation challenges involving dynamic Lightning DOM behavior, asynchronous processing, authentication, role-based access, data dependencies, integrations, and multiple environments.
  • Integrate Cypress execution into CI/CD pipelines and release workflows with pull-request validation, scheduled runs, quality gates, result publishing, screenshots, videos, and diagnostics.
  • Establish quality metrics covering automation coverage, pass rates, execution time, flaky tests, defect escapes, failure causes, and manual effort avoided.
  • Build secure test-data and credential-management practices across Salesforce sandboxes and connected systems.
  • Perform exploratory, functional, integration, regression, and release-readiness testing when automation is unavailable or human judgment is needed.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve acceptance criteria, negative scenarios, risk analysis, testability, and definition-of-done standards.
  • Troubleshoot failed tests and application defects, document reproducible evidence, and collaborate on resolution.
  • Review automation code, mentor quality engineers and developers, evaluate Cypress capabilities and plugins, and contribute to QA governance and release management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of software quality engineering and test automation experience, including 3+ years testing Salesforce solutions in complex enterprise environments.
  • Advanced hands-on Cypress.io experience using JavaScript or TypeScript, including selectors, custom commands, fixtures, network interception, retries, asynchronous behavior, and test isolation.
  • Experience designing or materially scaling automation frameworks across teams, applications, or release trains.
  • Strong Salesforce testing experience with Lightning Experience and one or more Salesforce clouds, CPQ/commerce, custom Apex and Lightning Web Components, integrations, or platform automation.
  • Experience with API testing using REST and GraphQL patterns, authentication, request/response validation, data setup, and combined API/UI testing.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and source-control workflows using GitHub, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with test management, defect lifecycle, and work-management tools such as Jira, Xray, and Confluence.
  • Experience developing quality strategies, risk-based test plans, automation backlogs, traceability, release-readiness assessments, and quality reporting in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience diagnosing flaky tests, improving suite performance, handling parallel execution, and maintaining automation across multiple environments and data states.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, software engineering, communication, collaboration, mentorship, and ownership skills.
  • Preferred: Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I, Salesforce Consultant, Cypress, or other relevant certifications.
  • Preferred: Cypress Cloud, Okta or SSO-enabled authentication, secure credential management, accessibility testing, performance testing, AI-assisted test generation, or migration from legacy testing platforms.

Benefits

  • Remote role based in India.
  • Professional development, technical learning, and Salesforce certification opportunities.
  • Opportunity to shape test automation strategy for a business-critical Salesforce platform and influence quality engineering practices across teams.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
