Responsibilities

Lead technical improvements to the scalability, quality, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of existing data and ML processes.
Analyze data to support better business decisions.
Design, build, and test tools, libraries, pipelines, and platforms that enable Data Science and business teams to launch production experiments.
Partner with engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management, analysis, and ML tasks.
Own and build systems that enable rapid production experimentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 4+ years in data or ML engineering.
Expertise designing, writing, and maintaining data pipelines and systems while ensuring data quality.
Expertise in SQL, Python 3, and a JVM-based programming language such as Java or Scala.
Expertise in software design, design patterns, best practices, functional programming, and object-oriented programming.
Comfort working with Python 3, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, SQL, and S3.
Familiarity with machine learning concepts and common models, including regularization and tree models.
Familiarity with statistical analysis concepts such as p-values and z-scores.
Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and a data-driven engineering mindset.
Good understanding of Hadoop ecosystems, big data architecture, and related technologies.
Experience with Scala and Scala Spark development.
Experience working in an agile environment using test-driven methodologies.
Linux systems administration skills.
