Responsibilities

Design and scale backend services with Next.js API routes, background jobs, and serverless functions for high-throughput order processing.
Build and productionize LLM-based agents, AI/ML infrastructure, and RAG patterns for quote analysis and supplier recommendations.
Design PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and complex queries for materials, quotes, orders, and supplier relationships.
Build event-driven pipelines for order state management, notifications, and cross-system synchronization.
Implement caching and rate limiting for dependable external API integrations.
Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability practices and own incident response for backend systems.
Own internal tools and systems end to end.

Requirements

Staff or Senior Staff-level experience and a track record of building products and systems from the ground up.
4 to 12 years of professional experience.
Professional TypeScript experience and recent hands-on experience with Next.js.
Full-stack experience across TypeScript, Python, and Go.
Strong data engineering experience, including data pipelines and large-scale data processing.
Hands-on AI development or AI infrastructure experience, including production LLM products, LLMOps, model evaluation, and familiarity with the broader AI/ML lifecycle.
Experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure, including security and data privacy.
Manufacturing supply chain, procurement, or logistics domain knowledge is valuable.

Benefits

Base salary of $160,000 to $250,000 annually.
Visa sponsorship is available.
Remote within the United States; primary location is San Francisco, California.
