Site Reliability Engineer in Others

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production availability and take a holistic view of system health.
  • Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
  • Improve the reliability, quality, and time-to-market of software solutions.
  • Measure and optimize system performance, identify bottlenecks, and support fault-finding.
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
  • Gather and analyze operating-system and application metrics for performance tuning.
  • Partner with development teams to improve services.
  • Contribute to system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and balance development speed with reliability using service-level objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in similar positions, such as Senior Software Developer or Performance Lab Engineer.
  • Programming ability using one or more high-level languages, including Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Expertise in cloud computing technologies, especially AWS.
  • Solid knowledge and experience administering and optimizing Kubernetes, including CRDs.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD and provisioning tools such as GitHub Actions and Terraform.
  • A proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • AWS vendor certification or equivalent is beneficial.
  • Experience in a Java-based development environment is beneficial.
  • Fluent English; working knowledge of German is advantageous.
