Site Reliability Engineering Specialist in UK

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Professional Services automation strategy and roadmap for managed applications, including lifecycle, end-of-service-life, compute, and business continuity planning.
  • Manage compute infrastructure hosts, including patching and security vulnerability management.
  • Build network automation frameworks and deployment pipelines for testing, building, and releasing automated processes.
  • Identify and deliver driverless-change use cases and promote SRE practices across the Professional Services team.
  • Act as technical lead for incidents, contribute to post-incident reviews, and develop solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on TSA guidelines and influence compliant working practices.
  • Deliver complex network changes and provide assurance for fixed network platforms.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Strong Python skills with coding best practices, testing, peer reviews, and experience with GitLab or Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible and container technologies such as Docker or Podman.
  • Solid understanding of networking and web/API fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of IP/MPLS networks and experience building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience building Ansible repositories from the ground up for large-scale deployments.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience in a production telecommunications environment and introducing new services or products into operational teams.
  • Strong Linux and Windows system administration skills, with emphasis on performance optimization, security, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing and best practices.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels and perform effectively in high-pressure environments.
  • Relevant background as a network engineer with automation experience, an infrastructure engineer moving into networking, or a software engineer expanding into network engineering.
