Responsibilities

Build Android applications from architecture through design and implementation.
Collaborate with developers and designers throughout the development process.
Translate user requirements into applications that support real-world field scenarios.
Develop software for field mapping, data collection, sensor networks, street navigation, and related workflows.
Solve complex design, development, performance, caching, and user-experience problems.
Advocate for Android development within Esri and at industry conferences.
Participate in design and code reviews and help establish strong development practices.

Requirements

At least 2 years of commercial software development experience.
Experience developing with Kotlin and the Android platform.
Object-oriented design skills and knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Knowledge of mobile performance optimization and caching.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
Good communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work independently in a changing environment.
Preferred: experience publishing Android apps to Google Play, Amazon Appstore, or other Android marketplaces.
Preferred: experience with spatial or mapping applications, security, native hardware components, GIS, RESTful web services, or Git.
A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
