Responsibilities

Scale and optimize planning and simulation methods that convert satellite geometry and demand into capacity and coverage plans.
Improve computational performance and scale using decomposition, precomputation, caching, and parallelism backed by measured results.
Build and operate large-scale data stores, columnar query systems, and batch fan-out compute infrastructure for planning workloads.
Validate system outputs against reference implementations and protect the accuracy of business-critical results.
Partner with network modeling and real-time operations teams to transition planning methods from demonstrations to production.
Contribute to backend services and data pipelines for capacity, demand, pricing, inventory, and reservations.
Build highly available, scalable AWS services and provide monitoring, alarming, and on-call operational ownership.

Requirements

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
Experience collaborating effectively with science, data processing, and software engineering teams is preferred.
Experience improving the performance and scale of computationally intensive systems or algorithms is preferred.
Exposure to optimization, simulation, large-scale numerical processing, or geospatial data processing, or interest in developing depth in those areas, is preferred.
Due to export control requirements, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, lawfully admitted refugee, or person granted asylum.
