Software Development Engineer in Test in Remote

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute functional automation, load, stress, endurance, spike, scalability, and other comprehensive test strategies.
  • Establish performance baselines, analyze metrics and trends, identify bottlenecks and root causes, and provide optimization recommendations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web, API, and backend systems.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous, regression, smoke, and new-feature testing.
  • Create realistic test environments and datasets in partnership with DevOps and Engineering teams.
  • Develop performance reports, analyze test results, and communicate product quality risks and insights.
  • Partner with software engineers, product owners, QA, and developers to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and coverage.
  • Identify, document, track, and help resolve defects; perform code reviews for test code.
  • Develop tools and utilities to improve automation and test coverage.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of software testing experience, including both test automation and performance testing.
  • Hands-on experience with k6 as a primary performance testing tool.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright; Cypress or Selenium experience is also considered.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
  • Experience testing APIs with tools such as Postman or REST-assured.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and repository management, such as Bitbucket or Jenkins.
  • Experience creating, setting up, and executing manual test cases, preferably in Zephyr.
  • Working knowledge of APM tools including Grafana, New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
  • Familiarity with profiling, logs, metrics, traces, and diagnostics including GC analysis, thread dumps, and heap dumps.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, version control, and infrastructure as code, including AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Bitbucket, and Terraform.
  • Experience or knowledge of API, functional, integration, regression, white box, risk-based, data-driven, behavior-driven, or keyword-driven testing.
  • Experience using Jira or Azure DevOps for defect tracking and management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and quality-focused abilities.
