Software Development Engineer in Test in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute functional, automated, load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability test strategies.
  • Build and maintain performance testing frameworks and automated test frameworks for web, API, and backend systems.
  • Establish performance baselines and analyze CPU, memory, throughput, response time, latency, error rates, logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Identify bottlenecks, regressions, performance degradation, and root causes through profiling and diagnostics.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous, regression, smoke, and feature testing.
  • Partner with DevOps, engineering, product, and QA teams on test environments, datasets, acceptance criteria, and quality strategies.
  • Create test plans, manual test cases, performance reports, recommendations, automation utilities, and comprehensive coverage.
  • Document and track defects through resolution, review test code, and contribute to testing and automation best practices.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of software testing experience, including both test automation and performance testing.
  • Hands-on experience with K6 as a primary performance testing tool and Playwright for test automation; Cypress or Selenium experience is also considered.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
  • Experience testing APIs with Postman, REST-assured, or similar tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and repository management such as Bitbucket or Jenkins, plus manual test case creation and execution, preferably in Zephyr.
  • Working knowledge of APM, profiling, diagnostics, cloud, container, infrastructure-as-code, defect tracking, and test management tools listed in the posting.
  • Understanding of QA methodologies, test processes, white-box and risk-based testing, system dependencies, and functional, integration, regression, and edge-case coverage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and proactive process-improvement abilities.
