Responsibilities

Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand requirements and create test plans.
Design, develop, and execute automated API, service-level, contract, integration, end-to-end, manual, performance, load, and stress tests.
Validate UI-to-backend workflows, data persistence, transformations, state changes, and results in SQL Server.
Test asynchronous, event-driven, batch, scheduled, retry, failure-handling, and idempotent workflows on AWS.
Develop and maintain JavaScript-based test automation scripts and the broader automation framework.
Create synthetic test data strategies that prevent PHI from being used outside approved environments.
Use logs and monitoring to diagnose failures and verify backend behavior.
Integrate automated tests into continuous integration and deployment processes.
Own the test automation strategy and roadmap and define automation standards across the engineering team.
Mentor junior automation engineers, conduct test automation code reviews, and lead cross-functional testing improvement initiatives.
Partner with product and engineering leadership to identify testing gaps and healthcare compliance risks.
Use AI-assisted failure analysis, AI-driven test generation, performance baselines, and coverage-gap tools to improve test coverage and reduce manual triage.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5 years of software development experience focused on testing and test automation for SaaS web applications and backend services.
Strong programming skills in C# and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with .NET test frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
Experience with Cypress, CodeceptJS, or Playwright for end-to-end automation.
Experience with API testing tools and frameworks such as Postman, RestSharp, or Pact.
Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience validating data in SQL Server.
Experience testing AWS services and workflows, including Lambda, SQS/SNS, S3, and CloudWatch.
Experience testing asynchronous, event-driven, or batch processing systems.
Experience with continuous integration and deployment and agile development methodologies.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently, deliver results in a fast-paced environment, and build effective cross-functional partnerships.
Healthcare experience, including familiarity with HIPAA and PHI, is highly preferred.
