Software Engineer, Account Security in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and launch features to prevent, detect, and mitigate account takeovers.
  • Collaborate with InfoSec, Economy, User, Product, and Roblox Safety teams.
  • Help define goals and influence product direction.
  • Instrument and analyze user interaction data, including usage metrics, to guide design decisions and maximize product impact.
  • Own end-to-end implementation across the stack using Go, Python, TypeScript, and Lua as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in software engineering or computer science.
  • Experience working on user-facing applications or services.
  • Proficiency in one or more languages such as Go, Python, C#, and JavaScript.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product stakeholders to define requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Commitment to designing and maintaining systems that prioritize user safety, data integrity, and compliance with safety policies.

  • Office-based roles are onsite Tuesday through Thursday, with optional presence Monday and Friday unless otherwise noted.
  • The role is based at Roblox headquarters in San Mateo, California when office-based.

Salary: $182k - $227k/yr
