Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and ship scalable distributed data applications and platform components.
Integrate open-source software with Apple’s internal ecosystem.
Develop cloud-based applications supporting data exploration, analytics, reporting, and production models.
Tune and debug code, support production applications, and assist application end users.
Collaborate with internal customers to understand requirements and improve platform workflows and features.
Contribute to data insights, metrics, KPIs, and basic ML use cases including anomaly detection, forecasting, and generative AI.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Programming experience with at least one of Python, Scala, or Java.
Knowledge of BI concepts and implementation experience using cloud databases such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
Experience developing optimized SQL, procedures, and semantic processes for distributed data applications.
Three or more years of experience building enterprise-level data applications on distributed systems is preferred.
Preferred experience includes cloud compute and database services, RESTful services, ETL, queues, notification services, and platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with Java, Spark, Kafka, data visualization tools, object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and problem solving is preferred.
