Responsibilities

Design, build, and ship full-stack web application features spanning backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces.
Prototype with emerging model capabilities and translate research results into product experiences.
Take product ideas from rough concepts to live user-facing products and iterate based on feedback.
Partner with researchers to understand model capabilities and constraints and incorporate them into product decisions.
Collaborate with product and design partners to define product direction.
Own technical architecture, including scalability, reliability, and maintainability decisions.
Help establish engineering practices and technical standards for the product engineering team.

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership across frontend and backend systems.
Demonstrated ability to ship production web applications end to end, from data model and API design through user-facing interfaces.
Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and fast-changing environments and make pragmatic technical tradeoffs.
Preferred experience building products on large language models or other frontier AI systems.
Preferred strong product sense and experience determining what to build.
Preferred experience as an early or founding engineer or leading a product from 0 to 1.
Preferred familiarity with modern frontend frameworks and interface design and usability.
Preferred experience with distributed systems, infrastructure, or backend performance at scale.
Preferred experience collaborating with researchers, designers, and other non-engineering partners.

Salary: $300k - $475k/yr
