Software Engineer (Application Software) in USA

Responsibilities

  • Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX.
  • Create applications that improve SpaceX operations.
  • Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
  • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
  • Understand users’ problems and create efficient solutions.
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience.
  • Preferred programming experience with Python, C#, .NET, Go, Scala, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
  • Preferred experience building single-page web applications, designing software systems, improving application performance, and working with build systems and package management tools.
  • Preferred experience with version control, continuous integration and delivery, testing, deployment, monitoring, UNIX-like systems, streaming data, Docker, Kubernetes, front-end frameworks, and databases.
  • Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.
  • Must be able to work extended hours or weekends when required by launch cadence.
