Software Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement AI-native databases integrating structured, unstructured, and vectorized data.
  • Design storage engines for embedding ingestion, multimodal retrieval, and real-time AI interaction.
  • Build scalable distributed vector search systems with low-latency guarantees.
  • Develop AI-augmented query processors using LLMs for semantic parsing, intent understanding, and cost estimation.
  • Develop RAG infrastructure and LLM agent memory backends.
  • Drive innovations in learned indexes, self-optimizing databases, and AI-integrated transaction systems.
  • Publish research and contribute to open-source communities.
  • Collaborate across research, engineering, and product teams to translate ideas into production systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in computer science or a related field with strong systems or AI research experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in core database systems, large-scale distributed infrastructure, or machine learning systems.
  • Strong coding and system-level design skills in C++, Rust, or Go.
  • Deep expertise in storage engine architecture, vector retrieval and similarity search, AI or model-serving infrastructure, semantic search, agent systems, or AI-native memory frameworks.
  • Ability to collaborate across research, engineering, and product teams.
  • Preferred experience with Faiss, Milvus, DuckDB, ClickHouse, TiKV, or RocksDB.
  • Preferred publications at conferences such as SIGMOD, VLDB, NeurIPS, MLSys, or ICDE.
  • Preferred familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure database and AI integration strategies.
  • Preferred contributions to RAG, memory-augmented models, or self-tuning database components.
