Responsibilities

Build, test, and deploy scalable backend microservices and APIs using Java or Kotlin and AWS infrastructure.
Develop and evolve event infrastructure, integration frameworks, and platform APIs for partners, customers, and internal teams.
Apply automated testing, phased rollouts, and code-quality practices to support high test coverage and zero-regression releases.
Monitor service health, analyze logs and metrics using Datadog and CloudWatch, and participate in on-call rotations.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and UX partners through design feedback, code reviews, and feature development.
Use AI tooling as part of the engineering workflow.

Requirements

At least 2 years of professional backend software development experience using Kotlin, Java, or another object-oriented language.
Experience building RESTful APIs and distributed systems in production.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including efficient SQL queries and schema migrations.
Familiarity with distributed systems concepts, asynchronous messaging such as Kafka, Pulsar, or AWS SQS/SNS, and AWS.
Strong problem-solving, learning, collaboration, humility, empathy, and respectfulness.
Preferred: experience designing platform APIs that other teams depend on and applying platform-oriented thinking.
