Responsibilities

Partner with machine learning, search, product, data, and frontend teams to identify infrastructure needs, influence the roadmap, and execute projects.
Build and enhance foundational infrastructure including distributed key-value and schema-less data stores, authentication and authorization, event streaming, configuration management, rate limiting, circuit breaking, feature flags, A/B testing, and traffic capture and replay.
Improve system observability and reliability through distributed logging, tracing, monitoring, and alerting infrastructure.
Define performance methodologies and metrics, identify bottlenecks, and improve application performance and scalability.
Deliver deadline-sensitive work that is interdependent with other engineering teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
Strong problem-solving skills and programming fundamentals in at least one backend language such as Java, Go, Python, or C++.
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and services, request and response handling, error handling, and distributed service architecture.
Understanding of concurrency, networking, scalability, caching, messaging, containers, and cloud platforms.
Experience with open-source technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, and Istio is preferred.
Ability to think critically about integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
Curiosity and desire to learn.

Base compensation is $125,700–$194,800, plus equity when applicable, variable or incentive compensation, and benefits.

Salary: $126k - $195k/yr
