Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate telemetry, observability, logging, and alerting systems for real-time system health, reliability, and performance visibility.
Develop proactive, AI- and agent-assisted issue detection, investigation, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Build data pipelines and platform services integrating Workday, Salesforce, and other enterprise systems.
Enable operational workflows, reporting, analytics, and AI use cases through reliable, secure, and governed data.
Develop scalable infrastructure and services primarily on AWS, with some workloads on GCP.
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, vulnerability checks, and quality gates.
Partner with engineering, security, data, Employee Success, and Finance teams to improve platform capabilities, developer experience, data reliability, and operational intelligence.
Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, technical planning, and documentation.
At the SMTS level, lead complex technical initiatives, influence architecture and standards, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

Professional software development experience building and operating production systems.
Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
Experience with or strong interest in observability, telemetry, logging, alerting, data pipelines, or data platforms.
Familiarity with open-source technologies, modern software engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and foundational security or vulnerability-management practices.
Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS; GCP experience is a plus.
Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and system-design principles.
Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering and business teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
MTS candidates typically have 3–5 years of professional software development experience or equivalent demonstrated capability.
SMTS candidates typically have 8 or more years of professional software development experience or equivalent demonstrated capability.
Preferred qualifications include experience with AI or agentic observability, enterprise-system integrations, MuleSoft, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CloudFormation.

The role offers a base salary range of $117,200–$223,900 annually, or $141,200–$246,000 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan locations.
