Responsibilities

  • Design and develop maintainable, reusable web applications and UI modules for large-scale deployment.
  • Collaborate with product engineers, developers, designers, product managers, and release engineers to deliver user-focused features and workflows.
  • Rapidly prototype web applications and concepts.
  • Drive REST API design for integration with back-end web services.
  • Ensure UI consistency, accessibility, and internationalization standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Participate in sprint planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives, and other software development activities.
  • Improve legacy Dojo codebases and support modernization using React, Preact, Stencil.js, and related tooling.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, including object-oriented JavaScript.
  • Experience with JavaScript toolkits and UI frameworks or libraries such as React, Vue, Angular, jQuery, and Dojo.
  • Experience with HTML, DOM, CSS, event models, cross-browser development, AJAX, JSON, REST, and Git.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and independent and group work skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field.
  • Preferred experience with web server configuration and deployment, including Nginx.
  • Preferred experience with C#, Python, or Java.
  • Preferred experience applying LLM technologies such as embeddings, RAG, and prompt engineering to user interfaces and workflows.
  • Preferred experience with ArcGIS, GIS concepts, or ArcGIS APIs; a master's degree is also preferred.
