Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, and iterate on production features across backend APIs, data pipelines, integrations, case management UI, and customer-facing tools.
  • Build scalable REST APIs and microservices that orchestrate identity verification, sanctions screening, document analysis, and other checks across 80+ compliance vendors.
  • Develop case management workflows and business logic for KYB and AML compliance processes.
  • Create data pipelines to ingest, transform, and route compliance data at scale.
  • Integrate with third-party identity and compliance APIs and manage complex vendor response mapping.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and documented code; participate in code reviews and engineering best practices.
  • Debug production issues, own incident resolution, and improve system performance, reliability, cost efficiency, monitoring, alerting, and observability.
  • Collaborate with product managers, compliance experts, and customer success teams on technical decisions, architecture, and engineering workflows.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in at least one modern backend language such as Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and modern deployment practices.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including comfort working in unfamiliar codebases.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Preferred experience includes fintech, RegTech, payments, fraud or risk detection, KYC/KYB, AML, sanctions screening, adverse media, event-driven architectures, message queues, NoSQL databases, search engines, third-party API integrations, frontend development, ML/AI systems, Kubernetes, Terraform, or infrastructure as code.
