Software Engineer I, Frontend (Upfunnel) in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve high-traffic frontend experiences across Affirm.js, promotional messaging, experimentation, and developer-facing tooling.
  • Develop reliable, accessible, performant, and scalable web experiences for pre-checkout use cases.
  • Use browser debugging, monitoring, metrics, and testing tools to maintain cross-browser reliability and contribute to operational issues.
  • Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders while communicating risks, trade-offs, progress, and business impact.
  • Participate in team growth and development activities and provide feedback through code reviews.

Requirements

  • Previous work or internship experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
  • Previous work or internship experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Ability to turn business scenarios into solutions spanning multiple software components and write clear, well-tested, extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging others’ code, and reviewing code.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Demonstrated ownership of professional growth and proactive feedback-seeking.
