Software Engineer I, Fullstack (Search) in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to team projects and goals with support from other engineers.
  • Collaborate proactively with teammates and stakeholders while communicating risks and trade-offs.
  • Develop software that balances speed, quality, and protection against downtime.
  • Design, develop, and launch backend systems at scale.
  • Translate business problems into solutions spanning multiple software components.
  • Write clear, well-tested, extensible code and navigate and debug a large codebase.
  • Provide feedback to other engineers through code reviews.
  • Participate in team growth and development activities.

Requirements

  • Previous work or internship experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Previous work or internship experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Experience using Python or Kotlin.
  • Ability to turn simple problems or business scenarios into solutions involving multiple software components.
  • Ability to write clear, understandable, well-tested, and extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating large codebases and debugging others’ code.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
