Software Engineer - IAM (Java) in USA

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate authentication services covering SSO, SAML, OIDC, OAuth2 token issuance, session and token lifecycle, SCIM user provisioning, and bot/fraud defense.
  • Develop authorization models, APIs, and internal tooling for roles, capabilities, grants, user data, and access controls.
  • Collaborate with product management, product design, engineers, and internal stakeholders to solve complex access and identity use cases.
  • Participate in the on-call and hero rotation by triaging incidents and investigating access, authentication, and authorization issues.
  • Improve production reliability and data integrity and remediate dependency and container vulnerabilities.
  • Use AI coding assistants for implementation, debugging, and code review.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience building and shipping reliable software services.
  • Expertise in backend programming languages, with Ruby or Java preferred.
  • Experience modeling and managing data at scale and writing and reasoning about SQL against relational databases.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort working with AI coding assistants as part of the development workflow.

Salary: $114k - $142k/yr
