Responsibilities

Lead the technical direction and architectural strategy for systems enabling merchants to integrate with Uber Eats.
Design, implement, test, launch, and maintain high-availability and high-traffic services and web applications.
Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, Operations, ML, and GTM teams to define requirements and execute the roadmap.
Prioritize and deliver merchant capabilities, scalability improvements, reliability work, and rapid product enhancements.
Ensure operational excellence across support, on-call, deployments, and incident management.
Champion and implement engineering best practices across the team.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, application servers, and web applications.
Proficiency in JavaScript and experience developing user interfaces with frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
Experience with Node.js, React-Query, GraphQL, or other server-side JavaScript technologies and tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including requirements gathering and drafting detailed design documents.
Preferred: advanced expertise in React and modern frontend frameworks and web technologies.
Preferred: familiarity with user experience principles and UX design tools such as Figma.
Preferred: understanding of web performance, accessibility, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
Preferred: experience implementing complex projects with multiple dependencies and experience with additional programming languages such as Go or Java.

Benefits

Base salary range of USD $171,000-$190,000 per year for San Francisco and Sunnyvale, California-based roles.
Eligibility for Uber's bonus program and potential equity awards and other compensation types.
Eligibility for a 401(k) plan and various benefits.
Full-time role; location-specific salary information is provided for San Francisco and Sunnyvale, California.
