Responsibilities

Build and maintain tooling for engineers’ local development environments.
Improve build and test speed and reliability and troubleshoot build and CI failures.
Improve Kubernetes tooling so product teams can independently make routine application changes.
Develop catalog entries, templates, and plugins for the Backstage developer portal.
Support releases through Kargo and improve release automation.
Participate in a support rotation, document solutions, and convert recurring problems into tooling improvements.
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

Requirements

2–4 years of software engineering experience, including internships or significant projects.
Programming experience in TypeScript or JavaScript plus Go or Python.
Comfort with shell scripting and the command line.
Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD concepts.
Interest in developer tooling, infrastructure, and improving engineers’ effectiveness.
Clear communication, strong collaboration skills, and alignment with Ironclad’s values.
