Software Engineer II, Earnings in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale tip and earnings calculation systems for Tips Manager and future earnings products.
  • Develop, run, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve backend services and event-driven infrastructure.
  • Participate in design, estimation, implementation, testing, debugging, deployment, and code reviews.
  • Deliver accurate, reliable calculations that affect restaurant employee pay and product revenue.
  • Partner with product and design to shape product requirements and technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, or similar.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly and solve real-world problems.
  • Commitment to precision and correctness in systems that calculate employee earnings.
  • Ability and motivation to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance using logging and metrics.
  • Interest in building reliable, scalable calculation systems.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $100,000—$147,000 CAD, plus eligible cash compensation, equity, and benefits.
