Software Engineer II, User Targeting in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement features across the Ruby on Rails backend and React frontend from design review through production rollout.
  • Own medium-sized projects by breaking down work, setting delivery dates, and delivering against them.
  • Write and tune queries against MongoDB and ClickHouse while improving segmentation performance and cost at scale.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and deliver customer-focused features.
  • Write automated tests, review code, and participate in the on-call rotation to maintain system stability and quality.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional experience building and shipping web applications through full-stack development or backend services.
  • Strong understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience with SQL and at least one production database.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous feature requests into working, tested code with limited oversight.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with experience working effectively in teams.
  • Preferred familiarity with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, Sidekiq, SQL or NoSQL databases, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Snowflake, or other data lake solutions.
  • Preferred experience with high-scale, high-throughput systems and a focus on customer experience.
