Software Engineer (L3) in Remote

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver high-scale routing experiences for Twilio Segment Data Pipelines.
  • Operate always-available distributed systems in cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define scalable and usable solutions.
  • Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, customer impact, and alignment clearly.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot reliability issues, and improve operational tooling and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience writing production-grade code in a modern programming language.
  • Hands-on experience with high-scale messaging or streaming systems and processing engines.
  • Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, or similar object-oriented languages.
  • Experience operating large-scale distributed systems on cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience shipping services using a CI/CD development paradigm.
  • Understanding of scalable software engineering and high-level service design.
  • Experience with container orchestration, datastores, distributed caching, container technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools is desired.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and experience working in geographically distributed teams are desired.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and operational excellence skills.
