Responsibilities

  • Build and ship mobile iOS features and components for Compass’s home buying and selling platform.
  • Collaborate with engineers, Product, and Design to scope, prioritize, design, and launch customer-focused projects.
  • Work independently with some guidance while evaluating technical tradeoffs and recommending solutions.
  • Perform code reviews, participate in design reviews, and write high-quality tests.
  • Develop testable, maintainable, stable, and operationally rigorous software.
  • Contribute to engineering-led initiatives that improve platform efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Create documentation including diagrams, service descriptions, decisions, and runbooks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of professional iOS development experience using Swift and shipping apps to the App Store.
  • Familiarity with modern Swift development practices such as SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency; reactive programming framework experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals, iOS design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience integrating with RESTful backend services.
  • Ability to collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders and implement polished, user-friendly solutions.
  • Experience with Scrum or Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
